Simplified Documentation

Color coding - A quick view of a color coded sizing quickly shows the relative size of the wound. One does not need to search for non standardized rulers, inches vs centimeter, etc.

Clusters - When dealing with cluster wounds customers will use one ring around the cluster and take one photograph. They will then use the tick marks to describe which wound they are assessing, for instance, the 1 o’clock and the 7 o’clock wound. This is better than to use multiple pictures and try to keep them organized in the medical record.

Avoid subjective descriptions – Color standardizing of size makes the description of wound size unnecessary. The guides make it easy to see the relative size without any subjective descriptive phrase as “size of an orange” or “size of a quarter”. Subject descriptive introduce ambiguity to the photograph and increase the liability to a facility. The last thing a facility wants to do is to have the plaintiff’s attorneys describe how large the orange.
